OBJECTIVES

Perrier Custom Solutions (PCS) began operations in 2022, following a series of contract engagements held by its president. PCS offers custom configuration and maintenance services for organizations working with Salesforce, optimizing everyday business processes and creating efficient, user-friendly tools which save companies time and money. The company was growing quickly and continued to add work to its roster. With the business moving so fast, they had not been able to focus on long-term growth, on diversifying their client base or on formalizing their operations. PCS was looking for a sustainable plan to guide them as they matured.

SOLUTION

We began with a strategic planning workshop, to fully understand the business’ background, current state and objectives. The workshop included an interview with the president and an analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. From the information gathered, a 3-year strategic plan was developed providing recommendations for business and organizational development. PCS has since begun using this report in its planning and day-to-day operations.

RESULTS

1. Detailed strategic plan with practical advice: The report was designed to align with PCS’ start-up culture and informal work style yet still challenged the company to mature and more formally establish itself. Focusing on the objective of growth, the report provided practical advice for marketing, business and team development, and introduced a system to implement with staff for regular objective setting and evaluation. The report was intended to be shared with staff, recognizing their involvement as critical to PCS’ long-term success.

2. Realistic 3-year plan: An implementation timeline for the report’s recommendations over a three-year period was provided. The timeline considered the constraints and opportunities facing this small company and provided flexibility, recognizing their context was rapidly changing and priorities may need to be shifted.
